Born in 1960. Studies of Agriculture at the Justus-Liebig-University in Gießen from 1980 - 1986. Before and within this time several training-jobs on different kinds of farms (dairy, pig-breeding, tobacco) in Germany, also in the Netherlands, Canada and USA. First contacts to the "Society for the Conservation of Old and Endangered Livestock Breeds (GEH)" in Germany. in 1984. From that time on, active in managing the conservation-program for the "Rotes Höhenvieh" (cattle) in Germany. Chairperson of the corresponding organisation from 1992 - 2001, and still responsible as manager in it's steering committee. Foundation of a central and federal organisation for breeding and conservation of "Rotes Höhenvieh" in Germany in 1997. Project-manager in the model project "Genetic Differentiation of Populations of the German Red Cattle Group", financed by the German Federal Ministry for Consumer Protection, Food and Agriculture (BMVEL). (1997 - 99) Start to elaborate the internet-based "Central Documentation for Animal Biological Diversity in Germany" at the former ZADI / IBV in Bonn (German Centre for Documentation and Information in Agriculture / Information Centre for Biological Diversity) on behalf of the BMVEL in 1999. Member of the working-group to develop the German National Report (Animal Genetic Resources) in the frame of the "State of the World's Animal Genetic Resources" - Process of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations (FAO) and to workout the "National Program for Conservation and Sustainable Utilisation of Animal Genetic Resources". Secretary of the national committee to promote and implement the measures of the National Program. Furthermore delegated as member in several German cattle-breeding umbrella-organisations.
