PhD in Veterinary Sciences for the University of Córdoba in 1989. Titular Professor of Genetics at the University of Córdoba with experience since 1984. Director of 15 Phd Thesis in the land of conservation and improvement of local animal breeds. More than 300 papers published in the same lands. More than 20 books as editor, author or co-author. Respossible of more than 40 research projects and research contracts with public and private institutions. Coordinator of the Research group AGR-218, Conservation and improvement of the animal genetics resources of the Andalusian Reseacrh Program. Secretary of the Spanish Society for the Domestic Animal Genetic Resources (SERGA). President of the Iberoamerican Society on the conservation of the zoogentic resources (CONBIAND network, previously CYTED XII-H Network).
