Born 1958. Doctor of Agricultural Sciences, researcher at the Dipartimento di Scienze Zootecniche at the University of Turin, Italy. Member of the Board of Directors of WWF Italy as national co-ordinator for agriculture. He is expert in large animal nutrition and management, and interested in domestic animal genetic resources. Since 1990 he is collecting data and photographs of Italian endangered breeds and since 1998 he is running a project for the conservation of the Mora Romagnola and Casertana pigs. He is actually promoting R.A.R.E., the Italian association for the conservation of endangered breeds.
