<eva.koerbitz@lzsg.ch> Born in 1972 in Vienna, Austria. She studied Agronomy at the Agricultural University in Vienna specialising in horticulture. First contacts to the issue of "Conservation of old crop varieties" were made through the organisation "Arche Noah", which is dedicated to the conservation of old crop varieties in Austria. During her studies she guided visitors through the organisations show gardens in Schiltern, Lower Austria. Since April 2002 she works at the small company RhyTOP GmbH in the Swiss Rhein-Valley, at the border to Liechtenstein and Austria. She is in charge of the project "Conservation of the genetic diversity of crop varieties in Liechtenstein", which was launched by the government of Liechtenstein. The aim of this project is to set up an inventory and to ensure the long-term conservation of old crop varieties. As most accessions are found from fruit trees, there is naturally an emphasis in that area. To ensure a sustainable conservation on the long term, there is a focus on finding new marketing channels for products of old varieties. She is Board member of the 2005 founded association "HORTUS" in Liechtenstein. As Liechtenstein is a very small country, we have excellent international contacts, especially with the neighbouring countries.
