Born 1971. Farmer, Baker, Pastry cook. He is running an organic farm in Dornbirn/Austria with sheep of two different breeds (Montafoner, Bovska) and with Altsteirer chicken. In his bakery and his delicatessen shop in the town center, he processes old varieties of cereals and fruits. Since 1985, he is active in the conservation of endangered breeds of farm animals and cultural plants. He has meticulously traced the last Montafonsheep in Vorarlberg and re-established the breeding. Today, he manages the herdbook of this breed and is also in charge of the Original Montafon Brown cattle. Between 1992 and 1996 he was vice-chairman of the VEGH (Austrian rare breeds society), since then he is active as regional co-ordinator in Vorarlberg. In the area of plant conservation, his focus is on old varieties of rye and potatoes as well as on all regional activities in Vorarlberg. Since the very beginnings, he has been actively working for SAVE Foundation. He already participated in the precursor committee, the informal "Meeting of the Lake Constance" focusing on the exchange of experiences between NGOs.
