Born 1964 in Slovenia. Veterinary Surgeon graduated in Ljubljana. As founding member and former President of DOPPS-BirdLife Slovenia, his interest in water and marsh birds can be seen. At the moment he is mainly active in the Western Balkans. His main interests lie in nature protection zones, for example, biosphere-reserves, their development concepts and zoning, GIS and especially the influence of agricultural livestock breeds upon the number of bird's nests found on deltas, river marshes and islands (extensive pasture systems). He attempts to strengthen synergies between old grazing systems and the protection of birds and to create sustainable development models for the area. At the moment this work is carried out together with Euronatur and SAVE in the Bojana-Buna Delta (Montenegro-Albania).
