Born 1957 in Bavaria, studies at Munich, Nürtingen, Kassel, Hagen and Hannover (Geology, Agriculture, Economics and Environmental Science). Work: Farm manager (horticulture) in East Bavaria, advisor for ecofarming, expert at the administration for geology and soil protection, Freiburg/Br., since 1992:

  • responsible officer for landscape management and agricultural affairs in large, nature protected areas (biosphere reserves, nature parks, national parks) in Brandenburg/ Germany,
  • honorary establishing agrobiodiversity groups (NGO VERN e.V.), farmers and gardeners networks for maintaining rare crop species,
  • member of different advisory and action groups (Federal Ministry of Agriculture &endash; ECP/GR-working group, BeKo-working group)
  • Extending various projects about rare crop species, socioecenomics of agrobiodiversity, connecting themes of nature protection and plant genetic resources.
