NGO-Zoom "Fruits"

SAVE foundation has published the first version of the "NGO-Zoom Fruits". The publication is a record of all Non-Governmental Organisations in Europe who deal on a regional or countrywide level with the conservation of endangered fruit varieties. The "NGO-Zoom Fruits" does not only list the respective addresses, but describes main activities, applied conservation strategies etc. The aim is to establish a more effective net between the NGOs active in this area, to facilitate the exchange of know-how and thus to support conservation work. In order to improve the quality of the NGO-Zoom as a networking tool, addresses of Governmental and University organisations dealing with fruit conservation for each country are listed, too. As far as known, addresses of single arboreta or important private collections are included, sorted according to countries. SAVE Foundation is hoping for numerous replies so that the next edition of the NGO-Zoom can be completed.
